How long does each candle burn?+

Our 9 oz vessels burn for 55–60 hours, our 4 oz travel tins for 22–25 hours. Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each light and you will get the longer end of that range.

Are the candles safe around pets?+

Yes. We use no essential oils on the ASPCA's list of known-toxic materials at the concentrations we use them. That said, never leave any lit flame unattended around animals or children.

Do you ship internationally?+

We ship anywhere in the United States, Canada, and the UK. Shipping to other countries can be arranged on request — write to admin@christinahermes.com.

How does the refill program work?+

Bring or mail your empty vessel back to the studio. We clean it, refill it with your chosen scent, and charge you 25% less than a new candle. Full details on the Shipping page.

Do you sell wholesale?+

Yes, in small quantities. Minimum order is 30 candles, mixed or matched, with a 4–6 week lead time. Start on the Contact page.

Why is the wax slightly grainy on top after a while?+

That's called 'frosting' and is entirely cosmetic — a natural property of soy wax. It does not affect burn quality or scent. If it bothers you, warm the top gently with a hair dryer.

Where do you source your fragrance?+

A mix of essential oils and clean fragrance oils from named suppliers in Grasse (France), Provence (France), Sonoma (California) and Portland (Oregon). We publish a full supplier list every January.

What is your return policy?+

If a candle arrives damaged or you're unsatisfied for any reason, write to us within 30 days for a replacement or refund — no questions asked. Full policy on the Returns page.
